Courses
My Gender IQ is a continuing education institute for clinicians who work with trans and gender-diverse patients. The curriculum was built by Jess Romeo, PMHNP-BC, MSW. It spans twelve modules covering history and language foundations, practice operations, clinical care, and specialty populations.
Courses are self-paced and most include CE credit. The complete curriculum is available as Transcend, a 40-CE-hour package that includes lifetime access, a private clinician community, and weekly group consultation with Jess Romeo.
Track 1: Foundations
The frame, the language, and the room you’re walking into.
Track 2: Practice Operations
What patients and clients see before they ever meet you.
Track 3: Clinical Care
The clinical work itself, medical and otherwise.
Track 4: Specialty Populations
Where general competency isn’t enough.
Featured:
Transcend
The full curriculum, community, & consultation.
40 CE hours across 11 modules. A private community forum where you can ask the ugly questions. Weekly group consultation with Jess. Lifetime access to everything I have ever made, plus future updates.
For clinicians who don’t want to keep guessing, or piece this education together across a dozen platforms.
$225/mo for 12 mos | $120/mo for 24 mos
History, language, and the conceptual basics.
Modules 1, 2, and 3 of Transcend.
Track 1: Foundations
Out with the Old
The history of trans and gender-diverse people, mostly the parts that don't show up in clinical training. The late 1800s through Stonewall, 1970 through the Transgender Tipping Point, and current events through 2025. The frame the rest of the catalog assumes you have.
1.75 CE hours | $249 or $21/mo for 12 mos
In with the New
Sex and gender as separate concepts. Foundational understandings about a trans experience. Sexual orientation. Intersex topics and the lenses they offer trans care. If the rest of the catalog uses language you don't fully have yet, start here.
2.5 CE hours | $175 or $15/mo for 12 mos
Fundamentals of Allyship
Allyship and terminology in three parts. What allyship actually is and what it isn't. Common faux pas, coming-out conversations, and the questions clinicians ask most. Less about getting it right than about staying in the room when you don't.
2.5 CE hours | $149 or $13/mo
Track 2:
Practice Operations
How a practice is designed and how patients are met.
Modules 4 and 5 of Transcend.
First Impressions
Everything a trans patient encounters before they ever meet you. Intake and registration forms. Your website and marketing language. Bathrooms. The front-desk experience. The signals patients read before the first appointment, and what to do about them.
3 CE hours | $175 or 15/mo for 12 mos
Second (and Ongoing) Impressions
Trans-affirming biopsychosocial assessment, with a piece on principles of consent. How to take a complete history without making the patient educate you, and how to do it again on visit two and visit twenty.
1.5 CE hours | $95 or $8/mo for 12 mos
Track 3:
Clinical Care
Direct, detailed clinical content. Nonmedical gender affirmation, hormone treatment, surgeries, and neurodiversity-affirming care.
Modules 6, 7, and 8 of Transcend.
Nonmedical Gender Affirmation
Gender expression care, name and gender marker changes, and the non-medical side of affirmation. The work patients ask about most often, and the work that rarely gets formal teaching time. (4+ hrs content, 1 accredited lesson)
1 CE hour | $15 or $5/mo for 3 mos
Gender Affirming Hormone Treatment
The hormone therapy module, top to bottom. Paradigms, goals, and processes of care. Estrogen-based and feminizing regimens, in two parts. Testosterone, in two parts. Nonbinary and eunuch GAHT. GnRH analogs. Prescriber-level deep dives on psychiatric care for patients on testosterone and on feminizing hormones.
8.25 CE hours | $297 or $27/mo for 12 mos
Guide to Gender-Affirming Surgery Assessment
Gender-affirming surgery assessment and letter writing. Top surgeries, lower surgeries, hysterectomy, and what each procedure actually involves. A guest piece from a patient navigator and a piece on preparing patients for life after vaginoplasty by Daisy Fatemi. The goal is letters that don't bounce and counseling that holds up to a patient who is making a decision you are not making with them.
7 CE hours | $349 or $32/mo
Track 4:
Advanced Topics
Patient populations, co-occurring conditions, and topics that need additional context beyond the core.
Modules 9, 10, and 11 of Transcend.
Neurodiversity-Affirming Practice
Where trans and neurodivergent identities overlap, which will represent a large proportion of your gender diverse caseload. Taught with Kade Sharp, LICSW.
Not currently eligible for CEs | $99 or $9/mo
Working with Trans Youth & Families
Adolescent gender care, working with caregivers and families, and navigating the political and media noise around pediatric gender care. Case scenarios you are actually going to see. Includes an interview with Rebecca Minor.
6 CE hours | $275 or $23/mo for 12 mos
Chronic Illness & Gender Diversity
The complex medical comorbidities that show up frequently in trans patients and rarely get connected back to gender care. POTS, MCAS, and Ehlers-Danlos as a triad. ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, and long COVID. The clinical patterns under the "complex patient" label.
3.5 CE hours | $199 or $17/mo
